The Women’s Empowerment Centre was built in 2016, and has surpassed our expectations. It was built to be a place for abused and struggling girls to find refuge, safety and education. It’s become a place where they can develop skills to better their lives, their families and their wider communities. KenyaHelp built the facility with classrooms, an office, kitchen, showers, toilets and sinks.

In the years since, we've helped install electricity and a kids classroom for those with children. Now there is even a large security wall surrounding the Centre to ensure everyone is safe. They live and learn here and when they are finished, they move on to find work.

The Women's Empowerment Centre is so successful that we now have a waiting list. So, we had to ask, why not make it bigger? Our next project takes on this task - building an extension on the Centre so more girls can benefit from the program. They learn computer skills, sewing, hairdressing, and agriculture. Our goal, with your help, is to build a second story of success in 2020.

It's simple to get involved and support this project! Just visit the CanAssist Africa Relief Trust at kenyahelp.ca  From there, look for Kenya Help in the list of charities and select us for your donation. You will receive a tax receipt for $25 and above. Every amount makes a huge difference.
